As the creators of the Moomintroll's enchanted world Tove Jansson (1914 - 2001) was an author and artist of world renown during her own lifetime. In addition to her novels about the Moomintroll, she also wrote and illustrated comic strips about the adventure in Moominvalley for the great many years.
As was common practice in 1950's, the original comic strips were unfortunately destroyed after publication. Thus, there was a great deal of rejoicing when several sheets of complete sketches for the original comic strips were discovered among Tove's property when she passed away.
The sheets contain funny sketches that have never been shown before. They have been beautiful reproduced some of them in limited edition.
These sketches/prints have been successfully shown at exhibitions in Helsinki, Stockholm, Brussels and Edinburgh.
