Terms and Conditions
Our terms and conditions apply to all transactions on the The Moomin Shop website and are set out below. Please read through these carefully before placing your order and then download or print a copy for future reference. We may change these terms without notice to you. Changes will apply to any subsequent orders received.
We will notify you by email as soon as possible to confirm receipt of your order and send you a further email to confirm your order details. Please note that neither email is acceptance of your order. Our acceptance of your order will take place when we dispatch the product(s) to you.
- Delivery Information
Delivery can only be made to mainland UK and Northern Ireland for the time being. For non mainland and International orders please contact us by either email or telephone. Please see below in the international section. All goods must be signed for by an adult aged 18 years or over on delivery.
The Moomin Shop has one category price of £4.99 inclusive of VAT, therefore, if you are ordering more than one item, one delivery charge will be applied no matter how much you purchase.
Our estimated time scales are up to 14 days for most stock items and four to six weeks for all other items. We make every effort to deliver goods within the estimated timescales, however delays are occasionally inevitable. We shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the products within the estimated timescales. Please note that unless you contact us letting us know that your product hasn't arrived we have no way of knowing that you have not received it. Once you notify us we will make every concerted effort to find out what has happened to your parcel and try and replace it as soon as possible once we have proof of the loss of the parcel.
If you are ordering with a specific delivery date in mind please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to make sure that we have the item/s you wish to order are in stock and please let us know the date you require the delivery for. Also if you need to have the invoice removed or a special message put in the package please let us know.
Please be sure to open your parcel carefully without using anything that may cut your products such as knives or razor blades (cuts of this nature are not covered by us)
- Payment Options
We try to ensure that the prices quoted are correct and that all products are accurately described on this website. However, orders will only be accepted if there are no material errors in the description or price of goods displayed on this website. If we discover an error in the price or description of goods that you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order based on the correct price or description, or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your order as cancelled.
We offer safe and secure encrypted payment options through "PayPal".
You can pay immediately using your Credit or Debit card. Complete your personal details and your card details then click the 'Continue' button. You can pay by Switch, Visa debit (Delta), Visa credit or MasterCard.
Your order will then be processed and confirmed by e-mail. For total security payment card details are automatically encrypted. Details are then verified with the bank and orders processed once authorised.
We will take all reasonable precautions to keep the details of your order and payment secure, but, unless we are negligent, we cannot be held liable for any losses caused as a result of unauthorised access to information provided by you.
- Refunds and returns
Your satisfaction is important. We will make every effort to ensure your happiness with your purchase. If anything you receive does not come up to your expectations, please contact us in writing within 7 working days from the day after receiving the goods. Goods must be returned to The Moomin Shop, 43 Covent Garden Market, London, WC2E 8RF. Goods must be returned to us in the original condition, unused, undamaged and with original packaging intact for a replacement or refund. The customer will pay all freight charges.
- International Purchases
We don't offer international sales directly through our website, however, we do sell internationally all over the world. As an international customer, we ask that you contact us by email via email@example.com stating the items and quantities you wish to purchase and the address you wish the items to be sent to. We will then calculate the cost of the shipping and send you an email with this information. If you accept, you will be given 2 choices to make a payment, either via PayPal or direct bank transfer. You will then get an invoice which you should go through thoroughly making sure all the information, items and quantities are correct. If you have any questions, this is the time to ask for clarification. If you accept, you must then make the payment and the items will be shipped to your desired address. Please note, it is up to you to make sure that all the information is correct. Once payment has been made and the items sent any changes of mind or changes to the invoice will be chargeable to you.
- Any claim regarding damaged or defective goods must be made within 3 working days of receipt. Please contact us in writing, by email or letter, immediately.
- If for whatever reason you change your mind and would like to return your order, we will refund the amount you paid for your order, excluding the actual delivery cost paid by us.
- If you purchased a faulty item from the store please take the item, along with your till receipt back to the store and present it to the Store Manager. If a manufacturing fault is identified then a full refund or exchange will be offered.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
- Guarantees, warranties and after-sales services
There is a minimum standard one year’s manufacturers’ guarantee. All products will be delivered with their individual manufacturers’ guarantees.

All foil balloon orders should be examined immediately upon receipt.
If a balloon is delivered faulty or incorrect please contact us immediately within 24 hours
Very occasionally Helium balloon product may leak and deflate after being blown up. In such circumstances please accept our apologies; we will be pleased to offer a refund but not exchange.

All brand names, product and service names and titles and copyright used in this site are trademarks, trade names, service marks or copyright of their respective holders. No permission is given by The Moomin Shop, or their affiliates for the use of such brand names, product and service names and titles and copyright by any other person, and such use may constitute an infringement of the holder's rights.
All designs, text, graphics and their selection and arrangement on this website are the copyright of The Moomin Shop, or their affiliates or content providers. Permission is granted to users to electronically copy or print portions of this site for their own personal non commercial use. Any other use of materials on this site without the prior written consent of The Moomin Shop, or their respective affiliates or content providers, is strictly prohibited. By using this site you agree not to alter or adapt, or to create any derivative work from, any content on this site.
All prices are right at the time of publishing online, although circumstances beyond our control, like inflation, may cause price changes. We do our best to let you know about any price changes before goods are live. All reductions in price and/or credit terms are reductions against our own previous prices and terms unless otherwise indicated.
All our sizes and measurements are approximate. Colours may not be exact due to reproduction limitations and resolution settings of your computer.
All products are subject to availability. If an item isn't available we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of accepting a substitute product of equal value or canceling your order.
We've selected our products on the basis that they will be used for domestic use only and we will not be liable for any loss resulting from the commercial use of our products.
Purchasing Knives: Please note that knives cannot be sold to persons under the age of 18 and only by credit card payment. Proof of age may be requested.
All products are supplied for domestic use only and not for any commercial use. All our consumer contracts are governed by English law and shall fall under the Exclusive Jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
The contract between us shall be governed by the laws of England and any dispute between us will fall exclusively under the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. English is the only language offered for the conclusion of the contract.
Until your credit or debit card has been charged for the sale of our products, no contract will exist or apply between us. The charging of your card will be deemed our acceptance of your offer and the effective communication of our acceptance to them.
